Follow this guide and download the TWRP recovery, drivers and things to start with.

Pre-Requisite:

  • Supported: Moto X Play (lux)
  • Charge your phone up to 80% or 70%.
  • Download the latest Motorola USB Drivers
  • Download ADB and Fastboot Drivers [Download ADB SDK Platform Tools]
  • Lineage OS 16 zip file: Download [Only available for beta testing. Mail your request]
  • Check out the supported device list at Lineage OS 16
  • Download latest Gapps file:

Instructions to Install:

  1. First of all, You need to enable the developer option and activate the OEM unlock and USB debugging.
  2. Now you need to unlock the bootloader on your Moto X Play.
  3. Once you have unlocked, you must install the latest TWRP Recovery on Moto X Play.
  4. Now the guide will be easy, boot into TWRP Recovery
  5. You need to Decrypt and Re-Encrypt Data Partition on Moto X Play.
  6. You can now take a complete backup of your ROM using TWRP Recovery.
  7. Now you need Wipe System Data on TWRP Recovery

  1. First of all, Download the Lineage OS Zip and GAPPS Zip file from the below given link.
  2. If you have downloaded the zip file in your computer, then connect your device to computer using USB cable.
  3. Now move the downloaded Lineage OS and Gapps zip to the root of internal memory of your smartphone.
