Open the printer folder and check the following:
- Open the Control Panel. (Click here to see how to open the Control Panel.)
- Click Hardware and Sound => Devices and Printers

STEP 4: Try printing from another application

STEP 5: Restart your Brother machine and the computer
Turn your Brother machine off and restart the computer. And then turn your Brother machine on again.
STEP 6: Reinstall the printer driver
It's possible that the printer driver is not installed correctly. Uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.
(if applicable for your Brother machine)
If your Brother machine's model name starts with MFC- or DCP-, insert the supplied CD-ROM and click Repair MFL-Pro Suite*. Then the uninstallation and reinstallation will be completed automatically.

STEP 7: Make sure that the Device Manager recognizes your Brother machine (only for Windows Users)

Click Start => Control Panel => Hardware and Sound => Click Device Manager under Devices and Printers section.

- Click Hardware and Sound => Click Device Manager under Devices and Printers section.
When the User Account Control screen appears, do the following.
- For Users who have administrator rights: Click Continue or Yes.
- Users who do not have administrator rights: Enter the administrator password and click OK or Yes.
